The wait is finally over! John Tavares is drafted 1st overall in the NHL 2009 Entry Draft! Congratulations to John Tavares. New York has picked up a franchise player and will be in for a real treat. Look for Tavares to help turn this franchise around and for Tavares to have a long successful career in the NHL. Tavares played his minor hockey in the GTHL with the Toronto Marlies. And in the OHL with the Oshawa Generals and now London Knights.
Many of our young athletes at Crossroads Sports Academy will be from Toronto. This will hopefully inspire each of these kids to chase their hockey dreams the way Tavares chased his on his way to the NHL.
I had a chance to meet Riley from Brantford early this year, this kid is an amazing athlete. He is like the “Gretzky” of the “free running”. He has played a stunt doubles for some of the biggest movie stars in the industry. Riley’s brother, mom and dad are also in the stunt business and are the best at it. They too have been stunt doubles for some of the biggest movies stars around. The dedication and commitment they have put into being the best in their business is so evident in the careers they have had to date. Enjoy this video
Kobe Bryant with 81 points vs. Toronto Raptors. Now that Kobe has won another NBA Championship ring – can we start comparing him to Micheal Jordan? This kid is amazing and has many years of ball left in him and no doubt one of the best NBA players of all time – if not the BEST!
Who will be the number one pick in this years 2009 NHL Draft? John Tavares or Victor Hedman. I have seen Tavares play his minor hockey with the Toronto Marlies and in the OHL with the Oshawa Generals and most recently with the London Knights. I have only seen Hedman on television in World Junior Tournaments.
Whether it will be Tavares or Hedman going first overall, these two young men have obviously worked extremely hard to be where they are today. All I can say is “good luck boys at this Friday’s NHL Entry Draft”. You will both have a long successful career in the NHL.
When we think of athletes we often think of mainstream sports such as football, baseball, basketball, hockey, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics etc. Kids dream of one day playing pro in the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB or going to the Olympics.
Well, take a look at these two brothers. Truly amazing athletes. Free Running at its best. Movie stars like Jet Li, Jackie Chan, James Bond, Tom Cruise often uses these types kids as “stuntmant” to make themselves look good. “My hat goes off” to these athletes.
Enjoy this video! Train hard and have fun!
